Foresee 預感

The main body of the artwork “Foresee” is a scale, and each side of it is respectively a candle and a mirror. The size of the candle will be based on how long this work is going to be exhibited.

During this time, the mirror will descend slowly with the candle burning and losing weight. In the end of exhibition, the scale will balance, and mirror will reflect the candle which is burnt down.

懸吊在空間中的天秤一端是鏡子，另一端則是正在燃燒的蠟燭，透過燭火的燃燒，蠟燭的重量隨時間遞減，天秤逐漸趨於平衡，但當鏡子與蠟燭中於能夠達成平衡，並能從鏡子照映出蠟燭時，蠟燭卻已燒盡。

這件作品同時出現在「2014牛俊強個展」、「2015牛俊強個展」，作為貫串這三次個展的作品，《預感》本身設定的原理與其隱涉的意涵，雖著每次個展所映照的創作者生命狀態，而有了更開放的討論予以觀者想像。

如同藝評簡子傑曾寫道的：「燭火不僅推移了時間，也改變了平衡桿兩端的高度關係，但這些變化其實緩慢到了不可見的程度，我們只能認識到這種能量轉換過程將造成的變化，而蠟燭將完成它注定消逝的命運，然而，畫廊本身卻很明亮，明亮得足以讓燭光顯得幽微，只有當蠟燭與鏡子等高時，它才將遭遇自己的影像，《預感》啟動了某種帶有距離的移情作用，燭火是作為隱喻的光。」¹
