<Chishang> series assembled after the 2019 art residency. I spent a month and a half of summer in this small town known for paddy fields in the Central Mountain Range and Coastal Mountain.
My location of the art residency is a bungalow on the embankment between a paddy field in Longzaimei, Taitung, wherefore I could glimpse the light of the sky change in the landscape. From sunset to noon, the mountains on the ridge coat with brilliant color. Significantly sundown, the panoramic scenery is gilded in rich gold and the sunlight lances through the polar air. The most profound feelings here are “cycle” and “recovery”. Cycle symbolizes the forecast, day and night, with the harvesting and sowing of cultivation, a type of tremendous order to keep operating. When the body-mind leisure in this ground, while the power awakens in sync, one can feel the subtle changes within itself.
Both double-circles in the <Chishang> series are the cycle of all dualities felt during this time: day and night, Yin and Yang, sun and land, quiescence and evolve, commence and finale. These two arts also reply to the eternal and evolved connection between mountains and water in Chinese Shanshui painting.
<Chishang I>, is represented by looking up the layers of color nude are flow of the mist between the mountains, the ridge between two mounts in daylight. In <Chishang II>, this art piece detailed the reflection of the mountains and surrounding landscape in the water shown while standing and looking down between the embarkment of paddy fields.
For the purpose state out different dimensions of light, I am using two pieces of photograph put on top of a piece of paper with the grain-bearing tip part of the stem cereal wheat, and letting exposed under sunlight until faded, the depth of mask altered out further layers of white, that is the sunlight traces left on, which also the soft silhouette shape of the wheat with the primal forces of this land are connected


《池上》系列是於2019年駐村之後的創作,在這個位於中央山脈、海岸山脈、以稻米聞名的小鎮裡,我度過了一個半月的夏天。
駐村的地點是在龍仔尾田埂中的平房,因此可以看到天光在地景上的變化。日昇至中午山脈至田埂染上高飽和的色彩; 日落時金色陽光透過嵐氣,在所有的風景上鋪了如鱗的金箔。
在此最深的感受是「循環」與「修復」。循環是氣候、日夜的輪轉、和作物的收割與播種,一種巨大的規律在這裡運行著。心身在這片土地裡安歇後,可以感覺到自己身體內在細微的變化,一股原始的力量也被喚醒。
《池上》系列中的二個雙圓是這段時光感受到所有二元的循環:日夜、陰陽、天地、靜止與變動、開始與結束。這兩幅平面作品,也回應東方山水畫中,山與水對應的永恆與變動的關係。
《池上I》中,表現的是仰視二座山脈在日光下的稜線,層層疊疊的肌膚色是嵐氣在山脈間的流動。《池上II》則是站在田埂中俯視水田時,山與周遭地景在水中的倒影。因為是水,所以有流動的線條,和暈染的色塊。
為了表現光的不同層次,我將這兩張攝影鋪上紙張與稻穗,讓其在日光下曝曬至褪色,不同厚度的遮罩留下不同層次的白,陽光在此留下了痕跡,淡淡的稻穗剪影也連結了這塊土地的原始力量。
